With renewed attacks on Toronto’s light rail plans, it’s useful to point out that TTC streetcars are often used as precedent in visioning images by planners south of the border. Two ready examples (shown above) are from the US Department of Transportation’s Livability Standards and Montgomery County Planning Department’s Urban Design page (Maryland).
